The Government Hates Competition

So some lawmakers are wanting to make weaponizing little drones illegal.

They have already passed laws requiring anyone who flies one of the damn things register with the government or face jail and huge fines.

I have news for these people, this is going to be a problem in the future no matter how many laws they pass, technology is going to advance and clever people are going to come up with more ways to use these little flying contraptions no matter what they do.
Our government has already taken this technology to it's current limits in it Global War On Everything.

A YouTube video of a drone-mounted handgun firing rounds into the Connecticut woods — and a companion video of a flying flamethrower lighting up a spit-roasting Thanksgiving turkey — have reignited efforts by some U.S. legislators to make it a crime to weaponize an unmanned aerial vehicle, the Associated Press writes.
Here is the rest of the Associated Press article:
While the Federal Aviation Administration mulls regulations on drones, a number of states have established their own rules — though most of them focus on drone-mounted cameras as threats to privacy and security. Connecticut would be one of the first to restrict how drone owners can modify their craft into potentially dangerous weapons.
“I am a huge Second Amendment supporter and it would make me very happy because I don’t see any, any civilian purpose for a flying gun,” said Clinton police Sgt. Jeremiah Dunn, whose department investigated the video.
The “Flying Gun” video, posted last summer by Central Connecticut State University student Austin Haughwout, drew the attention of the FAA as well. No charges have been filed but the FAA said last week it was still investigating.
Dunn said his department was instructed by the local state’s attorney’s office that no Connecticut laws appear to have been violated in the first video and that the incident occurred on wooded private property, where a firearm could be legally discharged. Dunn said no local ordinances were violated, either.
The teen’s father contends a new state law is unnecessary, arguing that his son did nothing wrong.
“This is a solution looking for a problem that doesn’t exist,” said Bret Haughwout.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with that last statement because it is a matter of time before some terrorist jackass uses one to kill someone.

Passing laws is just another impotent reaction to a problem that lawmakers know is coming and there isn't a damn thing they can do about.

Living on the West Coast, I remember seeing many stories about how the Japanese used balloons with incendiary devices attached to them they set loose during WWII to try and start forest fires randomly here in the Pacific Northwest . Fortunately they were unsuccessful but you get the idea.

All it would take would be someone to load up a swarm of cheap drones with something like that and turn them loose around here in late August for all Hell to break loose.
Someones imagination is the limit for the amount of fuckery one could come up with.

Laws have historically proven to be absolutely no impediment for anyone intent on causing death and destruction and this one would prove to be no different.
The technology already exists and we already have examples of people experimenting with it.

Kansas DUI law that makes test refusal a crime is ruled unconstitutional

It's almost hard to believe that there is still a deliberative body out there who understands how the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are supposed to work.
That is a sad but true statement.
One thing that is encouraging about this is that other states who have these same laws will now be put on notice that they too may be revisited in a harsh new light.

Kansans who refuse to submit to a breath or blood test in DUI investigations cannot be criminally prosecuted for that refusal, the state’s Supreme Court ruled Friday.

The court found unconstitutional a state law making it a crime to refuse such a test when no court-ordered warrant exists.

In its 6-1 ruling, the court found that the tests were in essence searches and the law punishes people for exercising their constitutional right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures.

Under Kansas law, anyone who operates a motor vehicle in the state has given implied consent to submit to such testing.

But the court ruled that the implied consent is not irrevocable and withdrawal of that consent cannot be criminally punished.

“Once a suspect withdraws consent, whether it be express consent or implied (under the statute), a search based on that consent cannot proceed,” the court ruled.

The state’s “compelling interest” in combating drunken driving and prosecuting DUI offenders does not outweigh the fundamental individual rights protected by the Constitution, according to Friday’s opinion.

But wait!
Here we have a Fucktard DA who thinks that Public Safety should take precedent over those quaint notions.

The ruling could have a big effect on the ability to prosecute repeat DUI offenders, said Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe.

But Howe said the U.S. Supreme Court is currently considering cases from other states on the same issue, and he is hopeful that Kansas could seek to join that action.
“I’m confidant the U.S. Supreme Court will find it lawful,” he said. “It’s a big public safety issue.”

My bold.

It's assholes like this guy who really piss me off. It's the exact same shit that the gun grabbers pull.
"Think of the children" , "Public Safety", National Security" and all the other catch phrases these pukes use are interchangeable depending on which Constitutional Amendment they want to ignore.

While I certainly don't condone drunk driving, at the same time there is already so much government overreach out there that this line of reasoning and the lame assed excuses these people use over and over needs to be folded, stapled and mutilated until they get it through their thick fucking skulls that the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land and all their desires to subvert it to suit their cause du jour do is fuck over the very children they profess to care about so much by eroding their basic rights.
The Stoopid gets old after seeing it over and over and over.

So it's very refreshing to see that there are some judiciary officials who still get it.

Obama To Direct The NSA To Share It's Data Snooping Contents With Other Government Agencies

That includes any "incidental" information they collect.

We have no reasonable expectation of privacy anymore.

Emails and phone calls are vacuumed up and stored indefinitely for them to snoop through at their leisure and by their own admission they have already Hoovered up and stored so much data that they have no idea what to do with it.
They hide behind the National Security excuse despite the Fourth Amendment being quite explicit in that
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

So show me your probable cause that my personal Emails and phone calls are evidence in suspecting me of committing any crimes.
The onus should be on the government to do that for every single instance of them collecting and storing every, single, piece, of data that they collect.

They can't and they won't so they hide behind the blanket immunity of National Security.

I sometimes wonder if I speak the same version of English these people do.

I'm Sorry But The FBI Is Acting Like A Bunch Of Children In This Spat With Apple.

I keep seeing this back and forth between Apple and the FBI in the news and it is making the FBI look really, really bad.

They can't get what they want so they are going all out with a media blitz trying to shame Apple into complying with the court order they got hit with.

At this point I hope Apple sticks one in 'em and breaks it off just on principle, let alone the Constitutional privacy issues .

FBI owes it to victims to access San Bernardino killer's phone, director says

FBI Director James Comey said late Sunday that the agency owed the victims of last December's San Bernardino terror attack a "thorough and professional investigation", in an effort to explain why law enforcement officials are trying to compel Apple to help them gain access to a cellphone owned by one of the gunmen.
In a post on the Lawfare blog, Comey wrote that the FBI "can't look the survivors in the eye, or ourselves in the mirror, if we don't follow this lead."
The post was Comey's first public statement since Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the company would fight a federal magistrate's order to help the FBI hack into Syed Farook's work-issued iPhone. Farook, along with wife Tashfeen Malik, killed 14 people in the Dec. 2 attacks.
Cook claimed that the judge's order required Apple to "build a backdoor to the iPhone", which he described as "something we simply do not have, and something we consider too dangerous to create."
The CEO said that if the technology to hack Farook's iPhone was created, it "would be the equivalent of a master key, capable of opening hundreds of millions of locks — from restaurants and banks to stores and homes."

Snip

Comey did acknowledge in his statement that the clash has laid bare a tension between privacy and security. But he said that divide should not be resolved by the FBI nor "corporations that sell stuff for a living."

"It should be resolved by the American people deciding how we want to govern ourselves in a world we have never seen before," he said.

We've read the book Comey so we know how this ends already.

There Is A Light At The End Of The Tunnel Now

Hopefully it isn't a fucking freight train this time.

I have been so incredibly busy that I am afraid to start listing all the shit I have gotten done in the last week.
I don't think even I would believe it but I know it was a metric assload of chores.
Just the running around back and forth between here, the old place and work, I put over 250 miles on my rig this last week, on top of all these chores and all 3 places are within 15 minutes of each other.

Just for fun I had to put in overtime at work a couple of nights, last Friday I didn't get home until two thirty in the morning and was up at ten and on the road again.

Trying to figure out how much all this fucking bullshit is costing us is enough to lock my jaw shut.
Counting all the tools, the roll away I gave to my kid and the car parts I threw away, the total outlay for this Fandango is right about forty five hundred bucks, if we have to eat the security deposit.

I have already pretty much wrote that off because of the garage door that self destructed on me . We shall see. The back fence decided to try and visit the neighbors back yard here in the last couple weeks too. The wife noticed it sagging two weeks ago, the neighbors yard is about six feet below the fence and there are a bunch of trees in the way so it's not real easy to notice when it starts sagging. I went and looked at it yesterday and it is now to the point of total collapse. In two weeks it has went from a barely noticeable sag in the middle to literally hanging at about a thirty degree angle over the neighbors back yard and is only being held up by a stump and two posts for a span of about thirty feet.

This guy is going to eat that one.
It all started after he told us to get out and I have been too busy to fuck with it.
I still have to get my buddy over there to do some trim work around some of the doors, the lumber is already there and I have to go find a new door latch assembly for a twenty year old Maytag dryer. I also have to get a tow truck over there and haul that POS Sprite over here. How I am going to get it in the garage has yet to be determined as it is full of boxes and shit.

I don't think we have fully unpacked one single box here yet, we have been too damn busy over there.

Everything else left over there is cleaning, the wife says she should finish tomorrow and then the landlord is supposed to show up Tuesday to look at the place.

Either fucking way I am going to be done with this little adventure here real fucking quick, the end of the month approaches rapidly.
It won't be a minute too soon either, I have pushed myself real close to my limit and don't have a lot of reserves left. The word of the day is exhaustion, every day, lately.

Jeb's Done

Stick a fork in that boy.
I'd like to say it beaks my heart to see him bail out but I can't. He didn't have a snowballs chance in Hell to begin with after his brother Stupie McFuckwit shit all over the Presidency.

To be honest, Trump scares the living shit out of me because if he gets in then he will turn into a fucking dick tater as soon as someone starts explaining how things actually work in our new and improved (cough, cough) Amerika.

Sanders is a Commie bastard and Clinton makes the Mafia look like wannabe thugs.

In short, I'm sitting this one out. Don't even bother trying to tell me that if I don't vote that I can't bitch or that it's the only way to keep one or the other from getting in.

The game is rigged ladies and gentlemen.
The fact that Clinton isn't in jail right this fucking minute should be the only clue you need.
It's been said many times before and I'll say it again, we aren't voting our way out of this, it's too far gone.

In the mean time I've already bought the ticket so I'll just sit back and enjoy the show.
All three rings.

We Are STILL Moving

And it sucks giant donkey balls. We are about through getting shit out of the old place so that means the cleaning and fixing of little shit begins. It's going to take me over a month to get the new garage unpacked and reorganized. The Wifely Unit has an even bigger chore with the household crap but that is off limits to me thank God.

Apple To Fight Court Order To Unlock Data Erasing Software On San Bernardino Shooters Phone, Cites "Government Overreach"

This is big, very big.
Apple normally complies with court orders but this time they are saying the government has gone too far.
They would have to create the software necessary to bypass the auto lock feature of the phone, which the FBI wants so they can try unlimited attempts to crack the actual encryption. If someone attempts and fails to unlock this feature ten times, it erases all the encrypted data. Apple says that if they do that, then the government could unlock any Apple phone any time they wanted to.

Apple to oppose order to help FBI unlock phone belonging to San Bernardino shooter

In a statement released early Wednesday, Cook said that such a move would undermine encryption by creating a backdoor that could potentially be used on other future devices.

"In the wrong hands, this software — which does not exist today — would have the potential to unlock any iPhone in someone’s physical possession," the statement said.

The order is aimed at removing what had become a barrier in the investigation of the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.

Snip

U.S. Magistrate Judge Sheri Pym in Riverside directed Apple on Tuesday to help the FBI get around the phone’s passcode protection and any auto-erase functions the device might employ.

“The government has been unable to complete the search because it cannot access the iPhone's encrypted content,” U.S. Atty. Eileen Decker wrote in a 40-page motion to the judge. “Apple has the exclusive technical means which would assist the government in completing its search, but has declined to provide that assistance voluntarily.”

Snip

The health department gave the FBI consent to search the phone, according to the motion, but authorities have been unable to bypass the phone's passcode lock for fear its operating system would destroy all data on the phone after 10 failed attempts.

In its motion, the FBI said Apple should be able to turn off the device’s auto erase functions, allowing the government to submit “test passcodes” to the phone without the risk of destroying the data it seeks. The motion said that Apple routinely complies with law enforcement when presented with a search warrant or judicial order.

This battle has huge long term implications and the FBI is trying to strong arm Apple into giving them a back door to this technology which Apple can see would possibly destroy peoples privacy and the security of their data.

It wouldn't surprise me for one second if the FBI pulled out the old "National Security" card just to get what they want here.

Serious Motor Porn

Holy Mother of God.

3420 horsepower, 24 cylinders and 12 blowers.
It's gotta be a plumbers nightmare but DAYUM, is it cool!

Any old diesel mechanics out there would be able to tell you it was a Detroit just by listening to it blindfolded. They have a very distinct sound, especially when they are first started, before the idle smooths out.

Being a two stroke motor, they have damn good throttle response too.

I would pay money to see that thing in a truck that goes down the road.

One Hell Of A Good Read

Selous Scout over at Something Wicked Comes has been working on a book for a few years now and I think he is getting the finishing touches done up on it.
For quite a while he would work on it and then occasionally post the latest chapter on his Blog and I'm here to tell you, I ate it up as soon as I found out about it.

It's called The Cache and it is a story about a guy who barely escapes from work when some government types come for him and then continues on about his journey trying to get to some goods he has cached some miles away.

I personally think it would make a Hell of a good movie myself and once you start reading it, you will see what I am talking about.

He just finished the Prologue to the story
and I can see some serious improvements in what I already considered to be a good book.
Do yourself a favor when you have a little time to kill, go and bookmark his site, then start reading the story. Start with the Prologue, he has the rest of the chapters up on his sidebar that you can click on as you go.

If you are like me you won't stop until you are finished.
I keep telling him I want a copy of this book and I am dead serious.

It's good, I promise.

Go read it and tell him I sent you.

Our Government Workers Sigh With Envy

They haven't quite figured out how to take it to this level, yet.

Spanish civil servant skips work for 6yrs on full pay

A Spanish civil servant is in hot water after his bosses found he had not gone to work for six years. Joaquin Garcia will have to pay a fine of almost €30,000 ($33,000), even though he wrote a letter to the Cadiz mayor to give his version of events.
Garcia, who is now 69, did not turn up for his job of supervising a waste treatment plant in the city of Cadiz for the Aguas de Cadiz municipal company from 2004 until 2010, but continued to pick up his annual pay check of €37,000 ($41,000).
In 2010, a leading councilman, Jose Blas Fernandez, found out that Garcia had not been coming to work. “The manager of Aguas de Cadiz thought he was in the city hall and those at city hall thought he was there [at the Aguas de Cadiz],” he told Efe news agency.
Fernandez, who headed the disciplinary proceedings against Garcia, asked where he had been. However, he “could not answer anything and said that he had been harassed and subsequently left without any further comment.”

Nice work if you can get it. Get paid for six years for doing nothing and only have to pay back one years worth.

The Seige In Burns Is Over.

Now the legal process begins.

Last four occupiers surrender at Oregon wildlife refuge, ending 41-day standoff

The four holdouts in an armed protest at a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon surrendered on Thursday, with the last occupier repeatedly threatening suicide during an intense phone call with mediators before he finally walked out, ending the 41-day standoff with the FBI.

David Fry, 27, had stayed behind for more than an hour and told supporters by phone he had not agreed with the other three to leave. The call was broadcast live on an audio feed posted on the Internet.

"I'm actually pointing a gun at my head. I'm tired of living," Fry said during the phone call. He later added, "Until you address my grievances, you're probably going to have to watch me be killed, or kill myself."

Fry finally surrendered and authorities could be heard over the phone line telling him to put his hands up before the call disconnected. Portland's KGW television later showed a caravan of sport utility vehicles escorted by police driving out of the refuge in remote eastern Oregon.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a statement the final four occupiers had surrendered and face charges of conspiracy to impede federal officers, along with 12 others previously arrested.

"The occupation of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge has been a long and traumatic episode for the citizens of Harney County and the members of the Burns Paiute tribe," U.S. Attorney Billy Williams said in the statement. "It is a time for healing, reconciliation amongst neighbors and friends, and allowing for life to get back to normal."

Williams said now that all of the protesters had been taken into custody, law enforcement officials would "assess the crime scene and damage to the refuge and tribal artifacts."

Cliven Bundy Arrested In Portland By FBI On His Way To Burns Oregon

Cliven Bundy was surrounded by a SWAT team as he stepped off the plane in Portland and arrested on charges related to the stand off last year in Nevada, weapons charges and conspiracy to interfere with a Federal Officer.

Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher who touched off one armed showdown with federal authorities and applauded another started in Oregon by his sons, was arrested late Wednesday at Portland International Airport and faces federal charges related to the 2014 standoff at his ranch.
Bundy, 74, was booked into the downtown Multnomah County jail at 10:54 p.m.
He faces a conspiracy charge to interfere with a federal officer -- the same charge lodged against two of his sons, Ammon and Ryan, for their role in the Jan. 2 takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns. He also faces weapons charges.
The Bundy Ranch Facebook page reported Cliven Bundy was surrounded by SWAT officers and detained after his arrival from Nevada.
He was arrested at 10:10 p.m., authorities said.
The Bundy patriarch had traveled to Portland with plans to go on to Burns, where four occupiers had been the remaining holdouts of the refuge occupation.

The four remaining protesters at the Wildlife Refuge meanwhile, have been surrounded and cut off by the FBI using armored vehicles. Negotiations went on for some time and the last news is reporting the four will surrender themselves in the morning during daylight hours.
Cliven Bundy was attempting to get there and it has been reported that Nevada Governor Michele Fiore and Reverend Franklin Graham are trying to get there to help mediate.

  • Four remaining occupiers of the Malheur wildlife refuge in Burns, Oregon, say they will turn themselves in to the FBI at 8am PST Thursday.
  • But doubts have been raised over the apparent agreement after Cliven Bundy – a figurehead for the militia and the father of two former Oregon occupiers now in jail – was himself arrested on the way to the scene of the refuge.
  • The reported surrender deal came after FBI agents surrounded the refuge on Wednesday night, 40 days after armed militia members took control of the property.
  • Sean Anderson, one of the four, insisted the decision was not a surrender:
We are not surrendering, we’re turning ourselves in …
It goes against everything we believe in but we’re going to do it.
  • But there has been no confirmation from the FBI of the terms of the reported agreement.

The arrest of Cliven Bundy is going to send some shock waves around the Patriot community and should well cause more than a few people to start looking over their shoulder and in the rear view mirror.

It seems the FBI has decided that it isn't going to let that standoff slide after all.

I do believe we are about to see a paradigm shift in this country sooner rather than later.
There will be much discussion of these events in the near future and it will be very interesting to see what, if anything, comes of it.

Kanye West Declares Bill Cosby ‘Innocent’

With two days to go before his scheduled album release, Kanye West may have finally lost his mind.

Server Not Found

I will be so MOTHERFUCKING happy not to be seeing that little message on my screen anymore here soon.
I went to post something last night before I went to bed and as usual, the internet was out.
Some days there is no problem and everything works just fine. Other days, that cocksucker goes out fifteen times a day.
We have had problems with it ever since we moved into this place. I have had them out here several times and the last time the tech unexpectedly found out that there is household voltage bleeding back through the cable!
Somewhere in the walls of this house, somehow, 110 volts are finding their way in. It would require pulling all the cables out of the wall, one at a time until the offending cable was eliminated. I have put new grounds on the system and it helped but only a little bit.

Fuck, that, this is a rental.

So the guy that owns this joint can fuck with it after we are gone.
The really weird part is that while fucking around with it once I discovered that if I unscrewed the cable from the wall for a couple of seconds it would reset and come back on.We have tried other boxes and all kinds of shit.

So it got to be the little game of who was closest to the outlet and who did it last around here.

I am not going to miss that bullshit for one second.

It is getting down to crunch time here so posting is most definitely going to get spotty.
There is a metric shitload of things that need to happen and soon.
I am putting this thing down and throwing some crap in a box in 3....2...1...

This Is Why Our First Amendment Matters

It doesn't take too much of a stretch of the imagination to picture some people in our very own government just foaming at the mouth with envy over the IDF's ability to randomly decide they want to censor a bunch of Bloggers over in Israel.

Israel’s new chief military censor has demanded that popular bloggers writing on security-related issues submit their posts to her before publication. Failure to do so will be considered a crime. Critics say the move is Orwellian.

The expansion of the IDF’s censorship scope was first revealed by one of the bloggers targeted, Yossi Gurvitz. He runs a Facebook page called “George's Friends” – a title alluding to writer George Orwell – which has over 10,000 subscribers.
The military censorship served me with an order today, demanding to pre-vet any post or Facebook status I write about the IDF or -->

This week he tweeted that the IDF’s former spokesperson, who was appointed chief censor less than a year ago, has ordered that he submit his posts for prepublication review.

The message was sent from her private Facebook account, which has no status updates of its own, and Gutvitz initially thought it was a prank, he told the Calcalist business daily. He said he had no intention to obey the order and is reviewing his legal options.

Some 30 Israeli bloggers received similar notifications from the IDF, according to the Times of Israel. Many people online and some Israeli politicians have criticized the expansion of censorship.

“Under the cover of darkness, there is no limit to the expansion of Big Brother,” Ilan Gilon, a member of the Israeli parliament from the left-wing Meretz party, told Calcalist. “It recalls [the dystopian novel] ‘1984.’ I’ve asked for a debate to understand what the boundaries of censorship are and how far they can go. Am I also subject to censorship when I talk to you? This is totally unacceptable.”

The military censor is part of the IDF’s Directorate of Military Intelligence. It has the authority to prevent any information being published by the media and can even shut down outlets without any explanation – and has a record of doing so. This power can only be used during a state of emergency, but the Jewish state has been living under one since its establishment in 1948.

Previously censorship was applied only to established media outlets, book publishers and organizations such as emergency services and front-line community councils. Some blogger posts were subjected to military censorship in the past, but only after publication.

The move may be blowback from the greater recognition of blogging in Israel as a form of media. Since 2012, Israel’s Government Press Office has been issuing bloggers with press cards that give them the same kind of status as journalists employed by recognized media outlets.

Remember, it was just a short while ago that it was announced that posting any information about guns was considered a violation of the anti proliferation policy in place here so don't even think this kind of shit hasn't been thought of already.

They DO NOT like us chattering amongst ourselves and passing technical information back and forth without even thinking twice about it.

I Am A Traditionalist Rebel

To the core of my being.
I was born a rebel, have been a rebel my whole life and will most certainly, die a rebel. It is an innate part of who I am and it is one of the traits that made this country what it used to be before the SJW's gathered enough momentum to try and force their false utopia on the rest of us.
Sultan Knish explains it pretty well, it's something I have always had trouble putting into words but he does a pretty good job of it.

Headline; Unemployment Rate Lowest In 8 Years (HAHAHAHAHA BULLSHIT!)

The latest I saw they were all fucking excited because there were something like 150,000 jobs added in January.

Ok, out of a country of 320 million?
That is PATHETIC.

I don't know who these fucking morons think they are kidding with this ridiculous RAH RAH Bullshit but it ain't anyone with two working synapses inside their heads.

Unemployment rate lowest in 8 years

Jane M. Von Bergen, Inquirer Staff Writer
Posted: Sunday, February 7, 2016, 3:01 AM

Jane must be the one at the end you can't see.

The nation's unemployment rate dropped to 4.9 percent in January, hitting its lowest point in eight years, since February 2008.

The nation's payrolls expanded by 151,000 jobs in January, lower than the increase in recent months, when payrolls expanded by 231,000 a month, the U.S. Labor Department said in its monthly jobs report, released Friday.

"While the headline payroll job gains were below expectations and a disappointment, the torrid growth rate of the last quarter was not sustainable," wrote economist Sophia Koropeckyj, managing director of Moody's Analytics in West Chester.

"Most of the other data for January was more upbeat: The unemployment rate fell - even with a hefty increase in the labor force," he wrote. "Hours and labor force participation edged up, and, most promising of all, average hourly earnings rose the most in nearly seven years."

Aside from the headlines, much of January's report represents a continuation of the status quo, mostly positive but not dramatically so.

Torrid growth rate?!

I don't know what this lady Sophia So And So has been smoking but it has certainly put her about a light year away from reality so it must be good shit.

I do not care what any of these government cheerleaders say, our economy is still in the toilet from the last clusterfuck back in 2008, some eight years ago by my math. In some ways it is worse off now than it was then, the only bright spot I'm seeing is the price of Regular Gas finally went under two dollars a gallon around here for the first time in recent memory.
To be honest I figured I would never see that again in my lifetime.

Jobs are certainly no easier to come by than they have been in over a decade and actually pay less now than they did before the Big R hit.
The average starting pay for most of the jobs I hear about is anywhere from 13-16 dollars an hour depending on experience and how far you can bend over.
Not even enough for a single person to live on anymore and you are considered ungrateful by these sonsabitches if you turn your nose up at 'em!
So when I see bullshit news articles like this I just laugh at these stupid fucking people who seem to think we shouldn't believe our own lying eyes.

Found a place!

Went and looked at it, got called just before I walked in the door to work and was told we qualified, called the wife and had her go pay the deposit.

That is a MAJOR load off my mind!

We finally have a place to move to. It won't be ready until late next week but at least we can start moving forward.
The wife ain't a bit happy with the place and I'm sure I'm going to hear about it for some time but it is what it is.
She found it but it's a fair piece from here cross town so that means she is going to be doing a bunch of driving to make sure the kid gets done with school and taking him back and forth to work. Right now both of those places are five minutes from here, the other place is going to be twenty. That was her major sticking point for ALL the places I sent her links to.

Right now all I want to do is get the fuck out of here and clean the sonofabitch up so the owner can turn into yet another asterisk in my life.
The new place is newer and bigger, on a dead end and going to be home for a year, The Good Lord willing.
Yes, it has a two car garage and I am already hearing about her not going to be able to park in it because of all my shit.

If it was up to me we would have been looking for a giant shop that happened to have a double wide next to it.

Somehow that goal keeps escaping me though.

Cut 'Em Off At The Source

It's a start anyway.

Safe countries of origin?

Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia will soon be declared as safe countries of origin. As a consequence, people from those countries will basically have no right to asylum in Germany anymore – a controversial decision.
