A New World Record White Tail
MONSTER BUCK DEER - certified by authorities
Above is a picture of the new world record whitetail buck. It was taken by the cousin of a co-worker's sister's uncle's best friend's son-in-law's niece's hairdresser's neighbor's ex-boyfriend's oldest nephew. Reportedly it will score 2603-1/8 by B&C standard and was shot in West Texas on a really windy day, 85 degrees downhill, around a curve at 900 yards with a .22 cal. rifle.
Supposedly, this deer had killed a Brahma bull, two Land Rovers, and six Jehovah's Witnesses in the last two weeks alone. They said it was winning a fight with Bigfoot when it was shot. It has also been confirmed that the buck had been seen drinking discharge water from a nuclear power plant.
All this has been checked and confirmed by my friends at Snopes.
Honestly and Sincerely,
Barack H. Obama
Caturday; Christmas Wish List Edition
I WANT 3!!
Fucking cats on my counters and kitchen table piss me clear off, it is a constant battle around here.
I have trained my cat by throwing my hat at it. All I have to do now is move my hand towards my forehead and that motherfucker peels out trying to find cover. It took a while but it is most effective. I have drilled it at full gallop from my chair and rolled it before.
My wife forbids me from training her little asshole cat that way so I have to intimidate his ass in a different way.
A couple of these babies would do the job for me.
I've been good, I promise....

Just A Cute Little Thing
I certainly hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.
I certainly did.
As skinny as I am you would be tempted to think I don't eat much. Working Swingshift I don't get to eat "dinner" usually, two or three sandwiches and some other stuff is pretty typical for the day after a small breakfast.
I usually don't eat a whole lot at one time but I can put it away when I want.
3 plate fulls yesterday and I wasn't miserable at all, just full.
I know, you hate me. ;)
Anyways, after I pigged out we had a nice visit with my brothers and their families for a while.
Then we had to load up and head over towards Mt Hood on the Oregon side to my wife's parents place to visit.
It takes about forty minutes to get there.
While I was there I got to bullshitting with her dad about firearms. He sold most of his a few months ago but he still had a couple.
He dug out the cutest little antique Top Break .32 he said he had gotten many years ago.
I looked it over pretty good as I had never seen one of that vintage.
I did some internet searching on it and found out it is a Iver Johnson First Model Top Break .32 black powder cartridge pocket gun.
Not quite as good condition as that one but as it was made in 1884 or '85 it was in pretty damn good shape. The little lever above and behind the cylinder that opens it up is on a pin and it falls right out but other than that and some nickel finish blemishes, it still has the original grips and the bore is still in good shape.
What piqued my curiosity enough to do an internet search on it was the information stamped into the bridge over the barrel;
Firearms and cycle works?!
WTF?
It turns out they made scads of these things back in the day in different calibers and variations.
One thing that was REALLY interesting is that it is the exact same model of revolver that was used to shoot President McKinley, which ultimately killed his ass.
Unfortunately, even as old as it is I also found out there are still so many of 'em out there that they aren't worth squat.
A couple hundred bucks in mint condition.
It was still pretty interesting to see and learn about though.
One day it will make a nice little wall hanger.
I certainly did.

ObamaCare Suffering Death By A Thousand Cuts
The longer this mess drags out the better .
Eventually people are going to get fed up with this fucking disaster and Obama is going to have to choke on the reality that his Socialist Dream is not going to materialize.
This is a Breaking News Alert that I got in my Email. At present there is no headline to link to at the Los Angeles Times yet.

Obama administration delays online health law sign-up for small business
Los Angeles Times | November 27, 2013 | 10:39 AM
The Obama administration today canceled plans to allow small businesses to use a website this year to select health insurance plans for their employees.
Small businesses can still enroll employees using paper forms, and websites will remain available in some states, but the planned website will not be available until next year, administration officials said.

Some folks are reminiscing in the comments about the GTO and the Tempest, it's twin. Here is my 66 GTO story in brief.
My Dad bought a 66 brand new with the Tri power option.(3 two barrel carbs)
He used to carry racing slicks in the trunk and go out to the local airport on weekends and drag race it.
He was never beat.
He almost killed our entire family in it coming home from My Grandparents one day. Me and my brother were asleep in the back seat.
He was doing over a hundred miles an hour on Highway 101 Northbound, about Thirty miles South of Newport Oregon when he came over the crest of a small hill and some guy with a small camp trailer had pulled out of a driveway.
He was doing well over Eighty when he T Boned the trailer.
We wound up way down in a ditch.
My Mom went through the windshield face first. She wasn't wearing a seat belt.
It almost tore the drivers door clear off.
They finally got an ambulance there and I woke up in the back of it with the siren wailing.
I had no idea where I was at and after listening to that siren wail for a few miles I screamed at them to "Turn that fucking thing off"! I never did remember anything about the wreck.
I was six years old.
My Mom was awake and told me to watch my language, but I blacked out again and didn't wake up until I was in the hospital.
They gave my Dad his Last Rites at the hospital because they didn't think he was going to live. My brother was two and covered in bumps and bruises from head to toe.
There was a large cardboard box in the back seat that had somehow saved me from any major injuries and I was out of the hospital in a couple of days.
My Mom had scars on her face from going through the windshield until the day she died and was never the same after that.
My dad was in the hospital for several weeks.
I still have a couple of pictures of that car around somewhere after it was wrecked and there was a perfect hole in the windshield. The door was hanging by part of one hinge and the whole nose of the car was gone.
I still remember that trip to the hospital but I barely remember the car.

Phil, The Current Years
A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day.
30,000 to a man's 15,000.
The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men...
The husband then turned to his wife and asked, 'What?'

Most NY Safe Act arrests so far for crimes that pre-date new gun laws
Someone please explain to me how someone can be arrested, convicted, fined or sentenced for a crime that doesn't exist?
In the knee jerk reaction to the Sandy Hook shooting last year, there were a plethora of new , restrictive, gun laws passed because as we all know, politicians always feel the need to "do something" after any kind of tragedy.
New York went over the top and passed some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country that basically outlawed items that were perfectly legal to own before the laws were passed and thus put an onerous burden on citizens to get rid of certain guns and magazines before a certain date.
Some parts of those laws have not taken effect yet and won't until January, 2014.
By Teri Weaver | tweaver@syracuse.com
Really?
So it can be tossed later?
What kind of bullshit is that?
Is it just me or is that prosecutorial misconduct, or at the very least Selective Prosecution?
I would love to see someone go after one of these cases and file suit.
Actually, I would like to see the Supreme Court decide that these laws are a direct violation of the 2nd Amendment, which they clearly are.
In this current political climate though, I ain't holding my breath.
I would have been voting with my feet anyway.
Fuck you people, you want to be sitting ducks, be my guest.
By the way, ask Rahm Emmanuel how those restrictive gun laws in Chicago have been working out.

The NY Safe Act passed in early January in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Newtown, Conn. At the time, supporters of the new laws praised the changes as among the toughest gun restrictions in the nation.snip
The act changed or added to at least 15 different facets of state law, according to the New York State Police's guide to its troopers.
The act famously banned "assault weapons," semi-automatic guns with a detachable magazine that have extra components such as a pistol grip, flash suppressor or folding stock. People who owned these guns before Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the act on Jan. 14 have until April 15, 2014 to register them with the state.
Syracuse, N.Y. -Nearly 1,000 people have been charged under the NY Safe Act in the eight months since the tougher gun control law was passed, according to the state's Division of Criminal Justice Services.snip
Nearly 90 percent were accused of a crime that pre-dates the new act - including having a sawed-off long gun or an unregistered pistol - but was elevated to a felony when the Safe Act went on the books Jan. 15.
The arrests dealing with the more controversial portions of the Safe Act, including possession of a large capacity magazine or a newly defined "assault weapon," are far fewer. And it's unclear whether some of those charges will actually stick, in part because gun owners still have time to register or get rid of certain guns and large-capacity magazines.
Take, for example, possession of a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds.
Across the state, 20 people have been charged with this misdemeanor, according to data The Post-Standard and Syracuse Media Group requested from DCJS. That includes three people in Onondaga County, according to the stats.
But the New York State Police advises its troopers that this change in the law isn't actually enforceable until Jan. 15. Dan Feldman, a former state lawmaker who now teaches at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, agrees.
Others interpret that part of the law differently. Certain large capacity magazines are now unlawful under the Safe Act, though owners have until Jan. 15 to get rid of them. And, people caught with a large magazine can have an extra 30 days to get rid of it to avoid the misdemeanor.
But, Onondaga County Chief Assistant District Attorney Joseph Coolican added: "That doesn't mean that if I'm caught with one (now), I can't be charged," he said this week.
Really?
So it can be tossed later?
What kind of bullshit is that?

Posting Death Threats Towards The President On Facebook Can Land You In Prison, In Case You Didn't Know Already
You would think this Public Service Announcement wouldn't be necessary but apparently some idiots didn't get the memo.
Content warning and disclaimer, the site linked to above is a Liberal News service .
I found the link from a news aggregate, FARK.
The Left Wing Bed Wetting is for entertainment purposes only.
Here is the Facebook post, for informational purposes only.
Making death threats on a public media platform is unwise to say the least. Doing so as a threat to The President is just plain stupid.
Now here is the US Code they are pointing to that codifies said behavior as criminal.
So the Libtards have notified the FBI and anyone else who will hold still long enough to listen to their screeching about this,
Yadda Yadda Yadda.
Moving on.
While I will say that I believe The Rule Of Law is basically dead in this country when it comes to The Powers that be and their Police State tactics and UnConstitutional power grabs, we need to remember that they still have the legal fig leaf to hide behind and will use the entire weight of government force to make examples of people who are not self aware enough to realize this fact.
Open War has not been declared and we are still eyeing each other like two cats circling one another in a dark alley.
As a matter of fact, one could use that analogy as an example of how to best act in the coming days. Think like an alley cat.
Lay your ears back, flex your claws and make very slow and deliberate movements while at all times being very observant of your surroundings and what your opponent is doing . When the fur starts flying then all bets are off and you fight tooth and nail.
We would all like to walk back out of that alley under our own power. You have to stay out of jail in the first place.

I'm thinking the Anti Gunners concentrated their efforts in the Puget Sound area with Seattle and some other of Washington's other large cities nearby and the bulk of the Liberals that are on the West side of the Cascade mountain range.
Washington is a big state and most of it's land mass is East of the mountains but sparsley populated.
Most of the rest of the state other than the Seattle area is more Conservative with some pockets of Die Hard Republicans.
Places Liberals wouldn't set foot in after dark.
We shall see.
I have been keeping an eye on this off and on .
Latte drinking motherfuckers need to remember how this state was settled in the first place. Here is the trivia part.
Five minutes from where I live sits Historic Fort Vancouver that was originally built to protect settlers from the local Indian's and was the biggest Hudson's Bay fur trading post West of the Mississippi.
The US Army had a Garrison here into the early 1900's and some of the officers quarters are still here, known as Officers Row.
Have some local trivia that will surprise the shit out of you Civil War buffs;
Did you know that a number of U.S. Army generals served at Fort Vancouver NHS’s Vancouver Barracks early in their careers? The list includes Generals Oliver O. Howard, George C. Marshall, Ulysses S. Grant, George B. McClellan, Phillip Sheridan, William T. Sherman, Omar Bradley and George Pickett.

Gun control initiative racking up signatures 'very, very quickly'
By KOMO Staff and Associated Press Published: Oct 9, 2013 at 5:32 AM PST Last Updated: Oct 9, 2013 at 1:33 PM PST
OLYMPIA, Wash. - A voter initiative that would make it tougher to buy a gun looks like it's headed for a statewide ballot.
Supporters of Initiative 594 say they'll turn in nearly 70 percent of their target of 325,000 signatures Wednesday morning, nearly three months before the Jan. 3 deadline.
"We've only been gathering signatures for about three months, so we got to 250,000 very, very quickly. We're incredibly pleased with how people responded," said Zach Silk with the I-594 campaign.
An initiative requires at least 246,372 valid signatures of registered state voters to be certified, though the secretary of state's office suggests at least 320,000 as a buffer for any duplicate or invalid signatures. Silk says his group the Alliance For Gun Responsibility will continue to gather signatures up until the deadline.
I-594 would require background checks for online gun sales and private transactions, closing what many call the "gun show loophole." The checks would be conducted at federally licensed firearm dealers, where people already must undergo such scrutiny before purchasing a new weapon.
Meanwhile, a competing gun initiative seeks to prevent the additional background checks.
Alan Gottlieb with the I-591 campaign says his initiative has two clauses. "The first is that no state agency can confiscate anybody's firearm without the due process of law. The second is no state agency can enforce any background check unless it meets a uniform national standard."
Gottlieb says his group, Protect Our Gun Rights, will have enough signatures by Jan. 3 to qualify for the 2014 ballot.

Wash. gun rights advocates tout 340,000 signatures
By RACHEL LA CORTE, Associated Press Published: Nov 21, 2013 at 10:10 AM PST Last Updated: Nov 21, 2013 at 1:26 PM PST
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Supporters of an initiative that would prevent Washington state from adopting universal background checks for gun sales say they have submitted 340,000 signatures with their first batch of petitions submitted Thursday to the secretary of state's office.
Initiative 591 would prevent Washington state from adopting background-check laws stricter than the national standard, which requires the checks for sales by licensed dealers but not for purchases from private sellers. It would also prohibit confiscation of firearms without due process.
"This is a monumental effort to protect our gun rights," said Alan Gottlieb, chairman for Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and a spokesman for Protect Our Gun Rights. "Our mission is and always has been to assure public safety while protecting the constitutional and civil rights of law abiding gun owners and citizens."
Gottlieb and other supporters turned in 13 boxes of petitions with the signatures, with signs on the boxes that read, "Save your gun. Yes on 591."
The proposal was crafted in response to Initiative 594, also likely aimed at the 2014 ballot, which seeks to require background checks for all sales. Supporters of that measure turned in more than 250,000 signatures in early October. Both campaigns can continue to turn in signatures up until the Jan. 3 deadline.
Initiatives require at least 246,372 valid signatures of registered state voters to be certified, though the secretary of state suggests filing at least 320,000 to provide a buffer for any duplicate or invalid signatures. The validation process begins after the signature deadline.
Washington state lawmakers had considered a measure similar to I-594 earlier this year, but it didn't pass the House or the Senate.

400.000 pounds of lead.Say that out loud to yourself. FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS, of lead ingots.
That is TWO HUNDRED TONS!!!
Gee I wonder how thick the concrete floor was, four, maybe six inches?
It's nice to know that morons are not indigenous to any one section of the country.
There does seem to be an abundance of them here locally though.

Warehouse floor collapses, triggers hazmat call
One minor injury reported after lead crashes onto containers of rubbing alcohol below
By Mark Bowder , Emily Gillespie and Patty Hastings
Published: November 19, 2013, 2:23 PM
A heavy load of lead collapsed through the main floor of a west Vancouver warehouse Tuesday afternoon, creating a 50-foot hole. The lead fell onto some chemicals stored below, and a thick sheet of concrete wall was pulled down in the collapse, which was reported around 2 p.m.
Vancouver Warehouse and Distribution Co., 1101 W. 11th St., was condemned, and trains were not allowed to pass through the BNSF Railway at the rear of the warehouse, said Vancouver Fire Department Battalion Chief Rick Steele; officials feared the vibrations from passing trains could cause the building to collapse.
Battalion Chief Kevin Griffee said a worker with a forklift had unloaded pallets of lead ingots when the main floor of the building gave way. The worker had backed up the forklift before the collapse and was not injured. About 400,000 pounds of ingots dropped onto about 1,000 gallons of rubbing alcohol that was stored below in plastic containers. Griffee was not sure how much of the flammable liquid was released. One man was treated for chemical exposure.
The building was so unstable that some traffic on the adjacent BNSF Railway was halted.
“It sounded like and felt like an explosion,” said Judy Bower, whose husband owns the business. “The building shook, the lights went on and off.”
The warehouse building, which houses a variety of items — from chemicals to food to clothing — also includes loading docks where trailers regularly bump the building. But this, she said, was different.
“Our first concern is — was anyone there?” Bower said.
Her husband, business owner Chuck Bower, ran toward the sound and found that a pile of lead had fallen on top of the rubbing alcohol containers. The chemical caused a burning sensation in his feet. He removed his shoes and was treated at the scene. He stood outside of the warehouse wearing no shoes while firefighters investigated.
“Nobody was down there, nobody was injured. It was the best possible outcome we could have,” Judy Bower said.
Warehouse foreman Dennis Niemann had just been labeling the lead, placing a piece of paper on the pile that indicated which rail car the lead had come from.
“I walked back into my office and boom,” he said.

If You Can't See That Your Liberty Is Gone At This Point You Are A Fucking Idiot
The Police State has full control for even the stupidest things you could never possibly imagine even ten years ago.
Father arrested for picking up his kids from school
Yes, you read that right. Not drunk, not high and not driving.
I would personally be so furious I wouldn't be able to see straight and would be in jail for assault on a police officer.
Guaranteed.

Remember,it's always "Think Of The Children" with these collectivist cocksuckers and your "rights" as a parent do not exist.

A Tennessee father was hauled off to jail after he insisted on taking his son home from school on time, rather than waiting for another half an hour under a recently implemented school rule.
Jim Howe, father of two children enrolled in South Cumberland Elementary in Crossville, Tennessee, arrived at the school on foot at dismissal time: 2:00 PM. But a new school policy states that students may only leave at 2:00 PM if their parents are picking them up in cars. Walkers must wait until 2:35 PM.
Howe maintained that the policy was meant to apply to students walking home by themselves, not students walking home with their parents.
“You don’t need a reason as a parent to go get your children,” he told school officials.
Avery Aytes, a sheriff deputy and school resource officer, was on hand to prevent Howes from leaving with his kids. The encounter between the two was captured on video by Howes’s fiancee, Jennifer Long. When Howes insisted that the new policy was illegal, the officer threatened him with jail time.
“I’m going to call some help down here and we’re going to take you up to the jail right now,” said Aytes to Howes. “I’m not putting up with this today. You’re being childish and it’s uncalled for.”
Howes said he didn’t want to wait in the car line–and had not brought his car with him, in any case.
“You’re trying to be difficult,” insisted Aytes.
When Howes suggested that state law was on his side–and that he school had to release kids to him on time–Aytes handcuffed him and put him in a police car.

I Ain't Afraid To Entertain People With My Ignorance
Poor Tam.
She must think I'm a complete fucking idiot.(Read the comments)
I will admit I am not real familiar with a lot of firearms but I am learning and if I occasionally come off as a complete dumbass I just chalk it up as part of the learning experience.
Like I said, I am not afraid to show my ignorance though.
People have been pointing at me and laughing for years, I'm used to it now.

Va. Senator Creigh Deeds stabbed multiple times, son dead in home
Posted on: 9:52 am, November 19, 2013, by Nick Dutton, Web Staff and Joe St. George, updated on: 02:07pm, November 19, 2013
BATH COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia Senator Creigh Deeds is being treated for “serious injuries” after he was stabbed “multiple times” inside his Bath County home, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
“After the stabbing, Senator Deeds left the scene on foot and walked down the hill of his residence to Route 42,” according to Virginia State Police. “The injured senator was spotted and picked up by a cousin who was driving along Route 42. The two drove to the cousin’s residence where the 911 call was placed to the sheriff’s office.”
Deeds was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center where his condition was not released. The senator’s son, 24-year-old Gus Deeds, died in the home from a gunshot wound, Geller said during a Tuesday afternoon press conference.
Virginia State Police were called to Sen. Deeds’ Millboro-area home about 7:25 a.m. Tuesday.
“Troopers arrived to find Sen. Deeds stabbed multiple times about the head and upper torso,” Geller said. “Senator Deeds’ son, Austin “Gus” Deeds, was found inside the residence, suffering from life-threatening injuries associated with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by trooper and first responders, he died at the scene.”
The investigation into the motive and sequence of events regarding Tuesday’s violence remained under investigation, Geller said. She added it was not yet known if Gus Deeds died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, however, she said police were not currently looking for a suspect in the shooting.
Sen. Deeds has been able to speak to investigators, however Geller would not share what was said.

Monroe/Pike representative hopes $25 bounty will knock down coyote overpopulation

Rep. Mike Peifer believes northeastern Pennsylvania has become "infested" with coyotes that are preying on everything from house cats to deer.
Peifer, R-139, is calling on Pennsylvania hunters to help cull the population. He's introduced legislation that would allow the state Game Commission to offer $25 for each coyote killed.
The House is set to vote on the bill today.
The bill wouldn't require the Game Commission to implement the incentive, but it would give it the flexibility to do so in areas where coyotes are a problem, Peifer said. State law already allows for coyote hunting year-round.
"We're just trying to control this population a little bit," he said. "Let's give (hunters) an incentive to hunt coyotes."
Peifer says the coyote problem first hit home on a bear hunting trip last year, when his party shot four coyotes. Since then, his constituents have been sharing their coyote stories with him.
"I can't tell you how many people come up to me and say, 'It's about time somebody did something,'" he said.

What He Said
I have been watching this back and forth bullshit with that prick Mike Vanderboegh and Kerodin, and several other right minded folks go on for some time now. Years as a matter of fact.
He tried fucking with Bill Nye but Bill shut his ass down hard. Let me tell ya, if you are smart, don't fuck with Bill.
As a matter of fact, ya shouldn't be fucking with any of these people.
Ol' Mikey done shit in his nest pretty good here lately though.
He pissed off Kenny.
Kenny, being the straight forward guy he is, let him have it.
Kenny pretty much arranged the pixels on the screen to reflect my thoughts exactly.
I ain't gonna mince words here, I have no use for Vanderboegh.
None.
I started to read some of his stuff years ago but shortly after I did was when the brick throwing post went up and that was it for me.
I recognized the modus operendi of an agent provocatuer right away but it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I had to go back a couple more times just to confirm that there were indeed people who would do his bidding.
The fact that some people actually went out and did what he exhorted on his Blog goes a long ways towards explaining why the Patriot community is so fractured.
. I mean really, throwing rocks through windows at political campaign headquarters because some guy on the internet told you to and you thought that was a great idea?
I certainly don't want to be associating with people that fucking stupid.
I would still be blissfully unaware of what the guy is up to if not for the fact that he feels the need to fuck with people all the time.
My advice, for what it's worth, is to treat him like the attention whore he is and just fucking ignore his ass.
I realize there are lines that people have to draw when it comes to being personally attacked by the fuckhead but for the most part you would be hitting him where it hurts most by ignoring him. The folks mentioned above are more than able to take care of themselves but I don't like watching people I like have to take the time and energy to keep responding to the old bastard.
We all have better things to do.

Exclusive: FBI warns of U.S. government breaches by Anonymous hackers
By Jim Finkle and Joseph Menn
(Reuters) - Activist hackers linked to the collective known as Anonymous have secretly accessed U.S. government computers in multiple agencies and stolen sensitive information in a campaign that began almost a year ago, the FBI warned this week.
The hackers exploited a flaw in Adobe Systems Inc's software to launch a rash of electronic break-ins that began last December, then left "back doors" to return to many of the machines as recently as last month, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a memo seen by Reuters.
The memo, distributed on Thursday, described the attacks as "a widespread problem that should be addressed." It said the breach affected the U.S. Army, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, and perhaps many more agencies.
Investigators are still gathering information on the scope of the cyber campaign, which the authorities believe is continuing. The FBI document tells system administrators what to look for to determine if their systems are compromised.
An FBI spokeswoman declined to elaborate.
According to an internal email from Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz' chief of staff, Kevin Knobloch, the stolen data included personal information on at least 104,000 employees, contractors, family members and others associated with the Department of Energy, along with information on almost 2,0000 bank accounts.
The email, dated October 11, said officials were "very concerned" that loss of the banking information could lead to thieving attempts.
Officials said the hacking was linked to the case of Lauri Love, a British resident indicted on October 28 for allegedly hacking into computers at the Department of Energy, Army, Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Sentencing Commission and elsewhere.
Investigators believe the attacks began when Love and others took advantage of a security flaw in Adobe's ColdFusion software, which is used to build websites.
Doing My Homework
I have been toying with the idea of acquiring an AK-47.
I really don't know that much about them so I thought I would start doing some homework.
After watching a few YouTube videos and seeing the absolute fucking garbage for sale out there, I may just reconsider this option.
This is a pretty good video that shows you what to be aware of concerning workmanship and parts quality from a couple of different suppliers.
This first piece of shit is to be avoided at all costs.
The video is almost ten minutes long and if you already know about this stuff then you probably don't need to watch it.
If, however, you are like me this is good stuff to know so that you don't plunk down some hard earned FRN's and wind up with a piece of junk.

Feds Make Printed Gun, It Explodes. Laughter And Finger Pointing Ensues On My Part
I swear, The Feds could fuck up a wet dream.
So they decided to make one of those "Liberator" 3D printed plastic guns to test and one of them blew up,literally.
The look of surprise did not cross my face when I saw this.
Feds Printed Their Own 3D Gun And It Literally Blew Up In Their Faces
Update, the video embedded doesn't work anymore so you will have to follow the link to see it.
3D Guns ATF
WASHINGTON -- Federal officials have determined that a 3D gun printed from blueprints available online qualifies as a deadly weapon and worry it could evade metal detectors at courthouses, schools and other public places.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) produced its own version of the Liberator, a gun made of plastic that can be produced using a 3D printer and blueprints made available online earlier this year.
"We downloaded files, we created firearms from those files, and we tested those firearms," Earl Griffith, chief of ATF's firearms technology branch, said in a briefing with reporters at ATF headquarters in Washington Wednesday.
The design of the Liberator includes a block of metal that technically makes it legal under the Undetectable Firearms Act, which requires that a certain amount of metal be included in a weapon so it is detectable. But the metal plays no role in the weapon's function and could be easily removed.
The ATF's testing showed that the weapon, while not quite as powerful as most guns, could penetrate several inches of soft flesh as well as a human skull. The Liberator can only fire one shot before it must be reloaded, but ATF officials said that's all a determined assassin needs.
"The bottom line is, the penetration results demonstrated that the Liberator is a lethal weapon," Griffith said. "The .380 bullets fired from the Liberator penetrate sufficiently to reach vital organs and perforate the skull."
Testing found that the type of material used in the 3D printing was critical to whether the weapon would function properly.(NO Shit? My thought) The ATF produced several versions of the weapon, some using plastic produced by the company Visijet and others using acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic material. The Visijet version actually exploded during the test, as seen in the video above.
There is more at the link.
Anyone who has ever worked with ABS pipe knows how brittle that stuff is.
This VISIJET stuff I have never heard of.
Speaking Of Guns, I Need Some Advice
.
If that doesn't get attention I don't know what will,it's more certain than boobs around here.
Lol!
Anyways.
While the dust is settling after my last post about the AK and reading some of the comments, I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on customizing a Remington semi auto 30-06? Right off the top of my head without looking I want to say it's a Model 730.
It's very similar to this 750 and might be,right now It's put away.
Mainly I am wondering if someone makes a ten or thirty round magazine for it. Also maybe a synthetic stock? I'm sure someone makes them but anyone with personal experiences opinion would be nice.
It's a hell of a rifle but in it's original configuration it's kind of a pain, literally.
The damn thing kicks like a Missouri mule for one thing. It has no recoil pad on the butt, just a steel plate.
A few rounds of that with my skinny ass and my shoulder starts crying like a little bitch.
I ain't a weenie so my brain says shut up and shoot bitch but seriously, who needs their shoulder relocated?
It's also heavy as hell. Right now I don't have a scope on it and that is going to be high on the list but the mag issue is my biggest concern right now.
Don't be bashful, jump right in.
Links would be greatly appreciated.

I'm Seriously Leaning Towards The AK-47
Simpler, more of 'em, better knock down than the AR-15 shooting .223.
I know, it's not .556 but that simpler thing is what I keep coming back to. I hate fussy guns.
What are your thoughts?
I think this comparison sums it up for me.

Anti Gun Mommies Get "Ambushed" At Their Meeting
Four ladies who are members of MDA (Mom's Demand Action) went to a restaurant in Texas to hold a meeting and were caught flat footed by forty gun enthusiasts who showed up to protest and sat in the parking lot for two hours with their guns, waiting for them to come out.
I see the point here but I have to disagree with the tactics.
I don't see the need to scare the shit out of a bunch of people who have no dog in the fight and were just trying to have some damn lunch.
Freaking them out so bad they wouldn't come out of the place for two hours is even worse.
Apparently this isn't the first time this has happened either.
Bad form in my book, you are not helping your cause and are instead seriously reinforcing a negative image.
That makes all gun enthusiasts look bad and we don't want that.
Capiche?
This is the kind of shit the media laps up and runs with, it makes their job easy.
Wise up people.
UPDATE:
I had a couple of comments hammering me about the picture above being taken out of context.
Here is the graphic I swiped from An NC Gun Blog as pointed out in the comments;
Standing behind the flag does not change my opinion of their tactics.
I am very much Pro 2nd Amendment but I still think intimidating a whole restaurant full of people who have no idea what is going on between the two groups is a bad idea.
The fact that a different picture is needed to counter the bad PR this caused proves my point.
Update #2- 11/12/2013
I'm still in a bit of shock to see this but Borepatch has linked to this post and has an opinion.
On Saturday, nearly 40 armed men, women, and children waited outside a Dallas, Texas area restaurant to protest a membership meeting for the state chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a gun safety advocacy group formed in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
According to a spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action (MDA), the moms were inside the Blue Mesa Grill when members of Open Carry Texas (OCT) — an open carry advocacy group — “pull[ed] up in the parking lot and start[ed] getting guns out of their trunks.” The group then waited in the parking lot for the four MDA members to come out. The spokeswoman said that the restaurant manager did not want to call 911, for fear of “inciting a riot” and waited for the gun advocates to leave. The group moved to a nearby Hooters after approximately two hours.
MDA later released a statement calling OCT “gun bullies” who “disagree[d] with our goal of changing America’s gun laws and policies to protect our children and families.” The statement added that the members and restaurant customers were “terrified by what appeared to be an armed ambush.” A member of OCT responded by tweeting, “I guess I’m a #gunbullies #Comeandtakeit.”
I see the point here but I have to disagree with the tactics.

This is not the first time that gun advocates have rallied at MDA events. In March, a group of armed men crashed a MDA gun-control rally in Indianapolis.

I say Hell Yeah to this news.
That and not half drunk from the night before telling lies and drinking whiskey.....
You know who you are.
This is a great thing in my opinion.
It's a great way to instill self confidence for one thing and the more ladies out there who are comfortable with firearms the better anyway.
It's good for the economy as outfitters and manufactures have a whole new market to cater to and that means jobs.More hunting licenses, more demand for ammo means increased production ,I don't see a downside anywhere.
I tip my hat to these ladies, get out there and get after it!
Newser) – This year's hunting season brings evidence of a steady trend over recent years: More female hunters are out in the woods toting shotguns. National Geographic takes note of Census Bureau stats that show women now make up 11% of the nation's 13.7 million hunters, up from 9% in 2006. What's going on? The story hits on a slew of factors, including the increased popularity of the sustainable and local-food movements and their focus on paying attention to where the food on our plates comes from. "Hunting may be the next frontier for local food," says author Lily Raff McCaulou. "I was pretty detached from what I ate before I started hunting." (And vegetarians, take note: She also eats less meat now, she says.)
Retailers have, of course, noticed the spike in female hunters—and perhaps contributed to it, by marketing smaller firearms and gear tailored for women, reports CBS Minnesota. That state mirrors the national trend, with the number of hunting licenses granted to women up from 50,000 in 2000 to 72,000 last year. Minnesota and other states also are conducting outdoorsy how-to's specifically for women. In fact, "women tend to be actually better hunters because they tend to be a bit more patient, and oftentimes are a much better shot, because they tend to be a bit more focused,"

Wheelin' And Dealin'
I was a bit busy yesterday so I didn't have time to post anything.
I was checking out EBay for some wish list items the night before last and ran across a killer deal, again.
I say again because I saw this same item about a month ago but it was listed as local pick up only, as it was again .
Unfortunately, the item in question was in a small town that is about 50 miles from the Canadian border due North from here. The ad was also expiring three hours after I found it.
This time I had to try though, it was an even better deal.
I looked up the town on Google Maps and like I said, it is basically straight North from here damn near completely as far across the state as you can get but it is also right off the main North/South freeway on the West Coast, I-5.
I am five minutes from I-5 on my end.
So I sent the seller a message asking them if they would consider throwing the item I had my eye on onto a pallet and wrapping a couple of cheap ratchet straps around it to hold it down and sticking it on a truck headed this way if I paid for the shipping.
Amazingly enough, the other party replied that they would do this if I arranged the truck.
The first phone call I made caused me to rethink my strategy, they had a $500 minimum.
They steered me to another shipper that is a common sight around here, Reddaway, and they told me $220.
Enough with the mystery, this is what I scored last night, the guy relisted it at Midnight just so I could snag it.
Isn't she a beauty?
I know, I know, it's ugly but to me it is gorgeous.
Even more so for $99.00.
It's an older SKIL 7 inch throat metal band saw. They go for about $1500 and up new, the crappy Chinese ones.
I talked to the guy on the phone yesterday and he said it worked before they stuck it in heated storage a couple of years ago. The only issue he remembered was a handle broken off on it that they were using a pair of Vise Grips on.
I will go through it and put a new belt and blade on it and clean it up.
Whatever it takes.
I have been wanting one of these damn things for years now and the only way you are going to beat that price is "Free".
I just got a message from the seller to wait on calling Reddaway, there is a guy where he works who has a part time shipping business at home and may be able to find a cheaper way to get this thing down here.
I'm all for that but even with the shipping charge I still think this is a good deal.
I have used the newer cheap assed saws they have nowadays and they are fucking garbage. They cost good money but are typically made out of thin sheet metal, have shitty bearings and cheap plastic parts where this one is all real steel.
This one looks to be pretty sturdy.
Woot!
I can't wait to get my hands on this little darlin'.
Now I can cross this item off my list and move on to the next.
Of course my wife is, shall I say, less than thrilled to put it mildly.
It must be a guy thing.
BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!
I was checking out EBay for some wish list items the night before last and ran across a killer deal, again.
