Negative, the Bren had an entirely different mechanism and the magazine top loaded so it had offset sights to get around that problem. It also fired 0.303 inch ammunition and, at the end of its working life was re-bored and re-chambered to take Nato7.62mm until it was replaced by the GPMG (UK equivalent of the M60).
What you are looking at here is an animated schematic of a 9mm Sterling SMG (Sub Machine Gun) that was derived from and replaced the Sten Gun of WW II.
