The Flesh is Weak,

I saw earlier where our favorite Crazy Uncle Bubba is trying to quit smoking, err, cigarettes anyways, and gave him my support while copping to a Mea Culpa of my own.

Bubba rightfully called me out on it, so after all the bragging, whining and bitching I did about the whole ordeal, I am going to man up and take the lumps that I so deserve.
Yes, I folded after four fucking months and started in again.

I'm a wuss.

It was like I never put them down too.

That's the scary part.

So there it is, I started smoking the nasty fucking things again, all it took was to grab the one out of my wifes hand suddenly while we were driving and take a big puff.

Game over.
I fucking relaxed for the first time in weeks.

All I can do at this point is wait until I get pissed off at myself enough and try to quit all over again.

As usual, the comment section is open, take your best shots.
I'm a full grown man and will take what I got coming.
In the mean time, excuse me while I  enjoy a smoke.

Just didn't take that time, happens to all of us smokers who try to quit. I quit for three months - I was a damn zombie the entire time. Like you, took that 1st puff and OMIGAWD - THATS THE STUFF !!!

Very hard to quit when your spouse is still smoking. Not that I blame her (you did the snatching) but the smell of the smoke can be overwhelming. I quit 17 years ago and I STILL miss it occasionally, especially during cold fronts when I would go out for that 1st cigarette in the morning and just 'wake up with Joe Camel', it is an awesome feeling.

Too effing expensive now. When I quit, $3.60 a pack - I look at the price now and just wonder how much money I wasted during 17 years of smoking.

Just get back on the horse when YOU are ready - thats the only way it takes, I think.

I quit, sorta. Really...I just changed the delivery system. Been eating the lozenges for over two years. I'm not wheezing like an old bastard any more. Yes..still hooked on nicotine, and always will be I guess, but anything's better than putting that shit in your lungs. Keep trying and good luck.

No shots from here, took me 6-7 years to quit chewing. It's been over 10 years now and hunting season without a pinch is tough. Just don't give up

It's a hard nut to crack my man but an attempt is acceptable.

Yeah, I've been smoking for 48 years now and I was going to quit to save money since I retired. Those things cost $64/carton here in PA. Then I discovered that I can order tobacco and tubes online really cheap.Costs me $8/carton. Now I can kill myself a lot cheaper....................

My mother quit dozens of times. Each time she started up again she smoked like she was trying to catch up on the cigs she missed. Eventually died of cancer.

For years dad said when was ready to quit he'd quit. Never believed him. One day he got up, started to light a cig, paused, then threw it away. Hasn't smoked in over 30 years.

I'm glad I never started as I'm afraid I'd be more my like my mom. I'd also be dead. You know that little bit of lung function you lose when you smoke? That's about all I had left when my lungs got damaged while firefighting. Dr. said I'd be dead if I'd been a smoker.

Moral support from here. I've quit twice this year, once with the little pills that made me highly aggressive and angry. Problem is, every time I start back up I tend to smoke more than I did before I stopped. It's tough going, but it can be done....so they tell me.

I've been cigarette free for 3 years. I loved to smoke, there is no way you can work a mechanic/maintenance job and not smoke. Nicotine helps ya think clearer, relax before ya gotta take some big mother fucking thing apart. Cigarettes are awesome for that!!! But I got tired of all of the other drawbacks that come with smoking, so 3 years ago I started vaping. I like vaping more than I like smoking and it pisses off the fucking liberals even more because it looks bad, but it's not bad for you. You will have better blood flow so your dick will get harder and bigger, you can still escape the family by going outside to vape and it only costs me $2 a day to vape and I know what you pay for a carton in Washington because I used to bring cartons from Oregon for my Washington friends. It's the only thing that worked for to quit and I didn't want to quit.

Oh, that sucks man! I don't know how many months in I am, but I almost did it a few days ago after 20 hrs. in the E.R. waiting room. I will use your story as a cautionary tale. BTW, according to stats most smokers quit multiple times before success. Some people aren't made not to smoke... I am a real asshole now and I can't treat anxiety by smoking anymore. Good luck either way.
