It's by design too.
If you are over forty this will probably amaze you unless you have kids that are this uneducated.
I stumbled on this Buzzfeed article that shows how 21 fruits and vegetables grow and I was like, kind of stunned that people don't know some of this stuff,
Our Grandparents would be laughing their asses off but it just goes to show how far away from the land modern civilization has strayed and it has ominous implications for the future of humanity in general.
If our descendants don't even know where their food comes from or what it looks like in it's natural state then they are at the mercy of the government who controls the growing and distribution of the food in this country.
There are people who think meat comes from the grocery store in neat little packages magically and that have no idea where fruit and vegetables come from either.
For example,
1. Asparagus grows STRAIGHT OUT OF THE GROUND and it’s kinda creepy.
And this one,
17. Celery grows straight out of the ground, too.
People these days literally do not know this stuff.
God forbid kids these days don't have a cell phone glued to their face but ask them where the food they eat comes from and all you get is a confused look.
Why, the grocery store of course.
I would bet a hundred dollars that you couldn't find me a city kid who would know what a rendering plant is and you could also be assured they would freak the fuck out when they found out what they do.
I briefly worked at a horse slaughtering plant once and there was a rendering plant right next door. On hot Summer days that fucker would gag you from a half mile away.
That's what all the cities in this country are going to smell like when the lights go out.

Hi Phil,
'Remember in the movie "Woodstock" you know the music trip on "Yasger's Farm!!" Max got up there on the mike to address the crowd and his first words were,"I'm a Farmer!!" Take it from there!!
Just something to think about.......

Holy crap Uncle Phil!
Ya mean all those steaks at the store aren't grown from 'meat seeds' the grocer man sprinkles in the freezer and waters?
