Given the expected life-expectancy of the clientele, I am not sure why it is necessary to kill all of the bacteria on the blade.
I do, however, understand the need to clean off most of the blood so that it doesn't rust. It is a breach of professionalism to cut off somebody's head with a rusty blade.
