Weight depends on whether they are wire tied or string tied bales. String tied are much lighter. Have done both.
Also a 2 or 3 string or baling wire depends on it's weight and size. The farm harvested three wire alfalfa at 5 feet length and it typically weighed between 140 to 175 pounds.
it was all loose hay when i grew up with horses, pitch fork in and up over the head getting covered with seed, back to the barn to un load the same way
Just a note, you bale hay, bailing hay might involve a boat?
