The problem with after market HID or LED lights is when they are universsl type kits. Many of these are labeled "For Off-Road Use Only." If they are not factory or a kit installed in the specific model vehicle they are designed for, you don't achieve the proper cut-off and the light "splashes" out of the reflector, blinding oncoming drivers. I installed LED headlights on my Honda Goldwing. The LED's were arranged on the mount in such a way that they mimicked halogen bulbs, but with much more billiant light. The improved visibility at night is awesome, yet with the low beam on only, there is a sharp cutoff keeping the light well below the windshield of the average car. I do not get complaint flashed. During the day I do ride with the high beams on so idiots will see me. It is like staring at the sun, but you WILL see me coming and no do something stupid, like turning left into my path or pulling out into an intersection.
