Microsoft Replacing Internet Explorer, Finally

I am the farthest thing from a computer geek you could imagine and still be able to semi use one of the damn things but even I got sick and tired of Internet Explorer years ago and went with Firefox.

So Microsoft has announced that they are going to release their new web Browser that was code named Project Spartan and call it Edge.

Imaginative bunch ain't they?

Microsoft's newest web browser will be called Microsoft Edge, providing a definitive name for the codenamed Project Spartan, the company has confirmed.

Speaking at Microsoft's annual Build developers conference, Microsoft's corporate vice president of operating systems Joe Belfiore explained that all Windows 10 devices will ship with the new browser, replacing Internet Explorer for good.

Edge is significantly faster than its predecessor and includes a built-in notation tool, further integration with digital assistant Cortana to offer more personalised results and actions, and a reading mode, Belfiore said.

"For us, the name refers to the idea of being on the edge of consuming and creating," he added. "It refers to the developer notion of being closest to the modern capabilities of the web."

Edge will also be capable of supporting Chrome and Firefox extensions, allowing developers to carry their favourite plug-ins to the new browser.

That last bit there cracked my ass up.

You have to give props to the developers at Firefox when even the inventors of the Blue Screen Of Death come out with a new product that specifically makes sure to be able to interface with a competitors product.

I still won't use it though.
Those clever people at Microsoft are in bed with the government and you can bet the farm that there are backdoors in that thing that the NSA has propped open already just waiting for you to turn on.
