Hungry Venezuelans Hunt Dogs, Cats, Pigeons as Food Runs Out

Ramón Muchacho, Mayor of Chacao in Caracas, said the streets of the capital of Venezuela are filled with people killing animals for food.

Through Twitter, Muchacho reported that in Venezuela, it is a “painful reality” that people “hunt cats, dogs and pigeons” to ease their hunger.

Don't miss that bit of irony there, they have Twitter but no food.

The crisis in Venezuela is worsening everyday due in part to shortages reaching 70 percent. This to go along with the world’s highest level of inflation.

The population’s desperation has begun to show, with looting and robberies for food increasing all the time. This Sunday, May 1, six Venezuelan military officials were arrested for stealing goats to ease their hunger, as there was no food at the Fort Manaure military base.



The week before, various regions of the country saw widespread looting of shopping malls, pharmacies, supermarkets and food trucks, all while people chanted “we are hungry.”

The Venezuelan Chamber of Food (Cavidea) said many businesses only have 15 days worth of inventory. Production has been effected as a result of a shortage of raw materials, as well as exhausted national and international supply resources.

This is the result of Socialism and the a government wholly dependent on oil for it's income, when the price of oil has dropped like a hot rock in the last year.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel here and you can start looking any day now for calls for the international community to start calling it a crisis and asking to send aid by the boat load.


You can also start expecting calls for the overthrow of their government any day now.

I had heard of Ann Bernhardt a few times, read some of her stuff and have to say the lady is pretty damn sharp.

I found mention of The Bernhardt Axiom over at WRSA a while back and had kind of let it sink to the back of my mind. I knew what it was , it's just something that seems so damn obvious once it's been pointed out to you because your gut has been telling it to you for years without it ever having come to the front of your mind so that you kind of go, OH YEAH!
Well, now you have a name for that gut feeling.

The fact that a given person is holding or seeking high-level public office is, in and of itself, proof that said person is morally and/or psychologically UNFIT to hold public office.


Think about some of these clowns we have seen running for office the last few elections and then nod your head.

Well, she had a post clear back in December addressing this concerning Paul Ryan and the Rogue Force personified himself, Mr. Donald Trump that I must have missed earlier but she nailed it.

This is Bitsy, she used to be my Parents cat and we wound up with her.
She recently turned 18 years old as near as anyone can tell. They got her after she was full grown, she just wandered into the yard one day and stayed.

I caught her out back soaking up some sun, she's a good cat, loves to lay across my legs when I am sitting in the recliner and will actually use her front paw to try and pry my legs apart if I happen to have my ankles crossed so she can get comfortable.

She was de-clawed long ago and is as mellow as you could ever want a cat to be.

Prosecutors and FBI agents investigating Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email server have so far found scant evidence that the leading Democratic presidential candidate intended to break classification rules, though they are still probing the case aggressively with an eye on interviewing Clinton herself, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

FBI agents on the case have been joined by federal prosecutors from the same office that successfully prosecuted 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui — and who would handle any Edward Snowden case, should he ever return to the country, according to the U.S. officials familiar with the matter. And in recent weeks, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Virginia and their FBI counterparts have been interviewing top Clinton aides as they seek to bring the case to a close.

CNN reported Thursday that longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin was among those interviewed. A lawyer for Abedin did not immediately return an email seeking comment.

The involvement of the U.S. Attorney’s Office is not indicative that charges are imminent or even likely. One official said prosecutors are wrestling with the question of whether Clinton intended to violate the rules, and so far, the evidence seemed to indicate she did not.

How many times have I seen in the last three or four months that there were multiple instances of Classified, Top Secret and Beyond Top Secret emails found on her server?

But there's no intent there so she is free to go?

That's exactly what this article is trying to say.

There's just that little part in there saying that Federal Prosecutors have now joined the FBI in this investigation.

That doesn't sound to me like anyone is just going to skate.

The Electoral College is populated by these so called Delegates you keep hearing about. These Delegates are who you vote for.
The procedure for electing the President and Vice President are laid out in the Twelfth Amendment.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 of the Constitution requires each state legislature to determine how electors for the state are to be chosen, but it disqualifies any person holding a federal office, either elected or appointed, from being an elector.[25] Under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, any person who has sworn an oath to support the United States Constitution in order to hold either a state or federal office, and later rebelled against the United States, is disqualified from being an elector. However, the Congress may remove this disqualification by a two-thirds vote in each House.

Candidates for elector are nominated by their state political parties in the months prior to Election Day. In some states, the electors are nominated in primaries, the same way that other candidates are nominated. In some states, such as Oklahoma, Virginia and North Carolina, electors are nominated in party conventions. In Pennsylvania, the campaign committee of each candidate names their candidates for elector (an attempt to discourage faithless electors).[26]

Since the Civil War, all states have chosen presidential electors by popular vote. This process has been normalized to the point that the names of the electors appear on the ballot only in a handful of states.[4][27]

The Tuesday following the first Monday in November has been fixed as the day for holding federal elections, called the Election Day.[28] Forty eight states and Washington, D.C., employ the "winner-takes-all method", each awarding its electors as a single bloc. Maine and Nebraska use the "congressional district method", selecting one elector within each congressional district by popular vote and selecting the remaining two electors by a statewide popular vote. The Fishing Trip AAR

It was gorgeous yesterday after he wind died down in the morning. Sunny, downright hot in the afternoon. At one point I pretty much had a five mile stretch of the Columbia river all to myself it seemed. No one on the dock, not a tug boat, speed boat, fishing boat or water ski to be seen. If it wasn't for the fact that Highway 14 was a couple hundred yards away it would have been perfect.

The fish must have had other things to do though. I caught one tiny little dude all day.

Doesn't matter, it was the peace and quiet I was after.
I finished up the paperback, had some Chicken On A Stick for lunch and just relaxed all damn day.

It was great. I'll be doing that again here real soon.

Gone Fishing

I went yesterday afternoon, didn't even get a nibble.

It was great.

Going again today, taking the Rat.
It's supposed to get up to 85 degrees.
I don't give a damn if I catch a fish or not, it's nice to get away for a bit.
I took these with my cell phone,this is on the dock at Washougal, my old stomping grounds.

Hopefully I will get some of the wildlife today, more than likely going to get sunburned too.
I was talking to someone the other day that knows me really well and I was lamenting the fact that I hadn't been doing anything but work for a long time.
They told me I needed to get the hell off the internet, go fishing and take a book to read.
I used to be a voracious reader and can't even remember the last time I read a book.

Like I said, this person knows me well.

As you can see, I am taking their advice.
