That is the general feeling, what with IP providers and hosting sites and server farm operators and the origami folds you have to do to open up a blog site.

Might check out A2-hosting, they are allegedly one of the best, also expensive. I have a site with them (non-blog) and there are three year plan coupons floating around to get steep discounts; afterwards it's about $100 a year. I've yet to have downtime with them and they do have tech support for when things go wonky... like that time I got myself blocked by the firewall for entering too many wrong passwords.
