Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, the top Democrat in the Senate for the past decade and for eight years the chamber's majority leader, says he will not run for reelection in 2016.
Reid, 75, had repeatedly said he would run for a sixth term next year, but changed course in a statement Friday, saying that a recent accident that impaired his vision gave him and his wife time to "ponder and think."
Acknowledging that his own reelection would likely involve a difficult and expensive campaign while his party works to reclaim the majority, Reid said it would be "inappropriate for me to soak up all those resources on me when I could be devoting those resources to the caucus."
"We’ve got to be more concerned about the country, the Senate, the state of Nevada than about ourselves. And as a result of that, I’m not going to run for reelection," he announced.
Poor Harry, giving up the reins of power is going to be so hard on the man, and so good for the rest of us.
Don't let the door hit ya on the ass.

Good riddance. Now if that old bitch Fineswine would retire. Of course the asshole gay bay area would probably elect someone just as bad or maybe worse.
