David Bowie Has Died

That's two, both from cancer. Fuck cancer.
They say that these come in threes so now we wait and see who's next.
I have to admit up front that I was never a big fan but there is no denying the man had a huge influence on the music scene and in film also.

David Bowie, 69, barrier-breaking rock star and actor, has died

By Steve Appleford and Matt Hamilton

David Bowie, the barrier-breaking British rock musician and actor, has died at the age of 69, just days after releasing a critically acclaimed album on his birthday.

Bill Zysblat, his business manager of 34 years, confirmed to The Times that Bowie died Sunday after an 18-month battle with cancer.

Bowie never stopped innovating. During his initial rise in the 1970s, he produced an astonishing range of work, from cosmic folk ("Space Oddity") and glam rock ("Ziggy Stardust") to blue-eyed soul ("Young Americans") and electronic experiments with Brian Eno ("Heroes").

His stardom hit new heights in 1983 when he appeared on the cover of Time magazine with the worldwide success of “Let's Dance.”

A statement posted to his official Facebook page said Bowie "died peacefully today surrounded by his family" and asked for privacy for his family during their time of grief.

  1. I was a huge fan from his first album.

So sad, and if you look up his group of friends who performed/managed him, it is 3.

Love you, and yes, fuck cancer!

    1. I have never paid much attention to David Bowie or his "music", If you want to call rock and roll "music". I am wondering how long it will be before the loonies start spotting him somewhere, like they do with Elvis every now and then.

  2. Dave was quite a "Musician!!!" 'Would love to "connect" with his "Muse!!" That said, over time I have followed his adventures and loved his music!! Years ago when he came out with "Ziggy Stardust" I always thought (This was during the epoc of "10-MAN Seed Star Skydiving" and the teams whose names will go down in history!!) I always thought, "Ziggy Stardust and his Spiders from Mars" would have been a Great "Team Name!!!!" Picture if you will, a Dropzone in Southern California, a group of people who find ultimate thrill from jumping out of airplanes at 120 miles per hour!!! They decided to compete with each other... 10 people... out the door....who can get all 10 linked up in a "STAR!!" (for time) FIRST!!! Then came the "Teams" with "Names!!" "10-High" "The All Stars" "The Columbine Turkey Farm" and who can forget "Captain Hook and the Sky Pirates!!!" "B-U-T-!!" "Ziggy Stardust and his Spiders from Mars" I think would have been a great Team!! But Dave cornered it in his Music!! It would have been a lot of fun!! Fly on Dave!! That "Star" up ther is waiting for you!!

  4. I remember hearing "Space Oddity" on an early album oriented FM station out of Pittsburgh back in 1969 when I was a wee tyke of 15. Gave me chills. I still have a 45 RPM of it. Loved the "Hunky Dory" album and "Ziggy Stardust". A great singer/songwriter....................

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, some peoples stink more than others too. Remember, I can make your opinion disappear, you keep the stink.
