I Told You So

I can remember saying a while back that cop killing was going to start coming more frequently.
They got lucky this time but what is different about this latest attempt is that it wasn't a Lone Wolf, at least if you can believe the story below.

Two suspects fired on a police patrol car with a rifle in South Los Angeles late Sunday night, prompting a citywide tactical alert that resulted in the arrest of one suspect and a massive manhunt for the second individual, authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 9:30 p.m. as officers were driving southbound on Hoover Street near 62nd Street, said Deputy Chief Bob Green. The officers returned fire.

No officer was hurt.

Police arrested one of the suspects at the scene and recovered a rifle, Green said. A second suspect remained at large.

A three-block area around the shooting scene was immediately cordoned off as police scoured the area with search dogs. At least 60 officers were involved in the search.

A citywide tactical alert is when every available officer in the city is ordered to a specific crime scene.

The LAPD advised residents to stay indoors. “Armed suspect in the area,” the police station said on Facebook just before 11 p.m. “Please keep our officers in your thoughts and prayers!”

I'm betting the LAPD rank and file are not sleeping too well tonight.

One would have to be intentionally avoiding the news to not see that this is getting more frequent lately too.

It was inevitable given the sheer number of killings and outrageous conduct cases perpetrated by these same police departments over the last few years.

People will only take so much, some less than others obviously.

The thing is, this isn't one or two here and there anymore.
It's all over the country now.

If I didn't know better, I would say that there might be the roots of a real revolution taking hold in this country.

Sleep tight Leo.

Winter Solstice 2014

Today is technically the shortest day of the year daylight wise.

I don't know about anyone else but I would like to choke the living shit out of the asshole who came up with that Daylight Savings Time scam bullshit.

Fer Chrissakes, I don't even wake up until Noon because of the shift I work.
That means this time of year I will be LUCKY, to see two or three hours of daylight on any given day.

I might as well live in a fucking cave!

Add the Christmas horseshit into the mix and it's no wonder I hate this time of year.

I need some Sun.
I may have to resort to an UltraViolet light here in my headquarters and start taking Vitamin D supplements.

In the mean time there is no end of pretty pictures on the internet to remind me of what I am missing.

Come ooooooooooon Summertime!

Why Not? After All, We Have So Much In Common Now

Since Cuba is a Communist State it makes perfect sense that Obama would want to get friendly.

U.S., Cuba to open talks on normalizing relations

Los Angeles Times | December 17, 2014 | 7:29 AM
The U.S. and Cuba plan to begin talks to normalize relations and open embassies in each other's countries, an Obama administration official confirmed today, the first step in what could break a 50-year stalemate between the nations.
The news comes after the release of American contractor Alan Gross, who was convicted of illegally bringing communications equipment to Cuba as a U.S. government contractor and was imprisoned in the island nation for five years.
The U.S. ended diplomatic relations with Cuba in 1961 -- two years after Fidel Castro seized power -- amid worries about communism encroaching on the West.

Families of Newtown shooting victims sue gunmaker, seller

In this Jan. 28, 2013, file photo, firearms training unit Detective Barbara J. Mattson, of the Connecticut State Police, holds up a Bushmaster AR-15 rifle, the same make and model of gun used by Adam Lanza in the Sandy Hook School shooting, for a demonstration during a hearing of a legislative subcommittee reviewing gun laws, at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, Conn. (AP)
The families of nine of the 26 people killed and a teacher wounded two years ago at the Sandy Hook Elementary School filed a lawsuit Monday against the manufacturer, distributor and seller of the rifle used in the shooting.
The negligence and wrongful death lawsuit, filed in Bridgeport Superior Court, asserts that the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle should not have been made publicly available because it was designed for military use and is unsuited for hunting or home defense.
"The AR-15 was specifically engineered for the United States military to meet the needs of changing warfare," attorney Josh Koskoff said in a release. "In fact, one of the Army's specifications for the AR-15 was that it has the capability to penetrate a steel helmet."
In addition to Bushmaster, the defendants are Camfour, a firearm distributor, and Riverview Gun Sales, the East Windsor store where the gunman's mother purchased the Bushmaster rifle in 2010.
Messages seeking comment from the defendants were not immediately returned.
Bill Sherlach, whose wife, Mary, was killed in the shooting, said he believes in the Second Amendment but also that the gun industry needs to be held to "standard business practices" when it comes to assuming the risk for producing, making and selling a product.
"These companies assume no responsibility for marketing and selling a product to the general population who are not trained to use it nor even understand the power of it," he said.
The plaintiffs include Sherlach and the families of Vicki Soto, Dylan Hockley, Noah Pozner, Lauren Rousseau, Benjamin Wheeler, Jesse Lewis, Daniel Barden, Rachel D'Avino and teacher Natalie Hammond, who was injured in the shooting.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary damages.
Nicole Hockley, Dylan's mother, planned a news conference later Monday morning with U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty and U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy.
The Newtown gunman, Adam Lanza, shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, on the morning of Dec. 14, 2012, before driving to the school and gunning down 20 children and six educators with the semi-automatic rifle. He committed suicide as police arrived.
In 2005, Congress and President George W. Bush approved a federal law that shielded gun makers from lawsuits over criminal use of their products, with some exemptions.

It's Been A Long Week

A very fucked up, long week.
It started out ugly and went downhill on a rocket sled after that.
One thing after another at work beginning with a spur of the moment bad decision to tear down and rebuild in place a piece of equipment that at best, takes a week except this time a certain ignorant fuck who will remain nameless, convinced himself that we have done it in the past in two days.

A fantastically tragic error on his part.

I asked him after three days of setbacks and his bitching and pressuring everyone if that magically happened while I was on vacation at some point because as far as I can remember, I have been in on every one of these fucked up messes and every fucking time it has taken a week, without fail.
Those were the ones that went right.

 This one didn't went right.

As a matter of fact, it's still not done and even if they get all the parts they have on hand installed, it won't GET done until Monday at the earliest because in their rush to prove they can perform miracles, they neglected to make sure we had all the necessary parts on hand.

To top this all off, when we tore it down, we found extreme damage to the underlying metal can that all these parts attach to.
Extreme damage that anyone in their right mind would fix before throwing thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours at.

But no.

So while the whole project turned into a giant clusterfuck of epic proportions, there is still the matter of everyday shit that breaks down and needs to be maintained.
Then we had a wind storm blow through. That produced a brief flickering of the lights night before last.
When I saw the lights flicker, I swore under my breath because as sure as the Sun rises in the East, it caused a power surge.

Really, really bad things happen where I work when we get either power surges or the electricity goes out, even momentarily.

They use enough electricity in that place to power a small city, I kid you not.

They even have their own substation across the street.
Everything is computer controlled. Computers do not like any deviation in the amount of electricity they need to operate.

Cooling pumps quit. Fans quit. Processors quit, compressors quit.
Machines quit right in the middle of critical operations.
The backup generator never came on because we did not lose power, we got too much.

We spent hours trying to figure out what powered up what and looking for tripped breakers, resetting processors and all kinds of fun.
One,motherfucking thing, after another and another and another.

My whole week was like that.

This is why it has been so quiet here on the blog.

Just for fun, I have been dealing with all this while short on sleep too.

It may be a day or two before things get back to what I call normal so bear with me and I thank you for your stopping by even when there wasn't anything new.

Now you know why.

Los Angeles Police Bragging About Arresting 25 Gang Members

What, did they surround one fucking house?

East L.A. gang sweep: 25 arrested, 5 at large, weapons seized

Los Angeles Times | December 10, 2014 | 11:45 AM
Twenty-five members of an East Los Angeles street gang were arrested and five more were being tracked as fugitives today as hundreds of law enforcement agents swarmed the Eastside in an operation authorities said was aimed at weakening a gang that has been rooted in the community for decades.

At least 38 members of the Big Hazard gang, alleged to have "deep ties" to the Mexican Mafia prison gang, were named in an indictment under federal organized crime statutes.

Catch that?
HUNDREDS of LEO's  to go after one bunch of Mexican gang bangers who were, of course,
"Heavily Armed".

Hundreds.

I'm thinking Chris Dorner is laughing his ass off wherever he is.

John Kerry Publicly Warns Feinstein About "Timing" Her Release Of Torture Investgation Findings

This is actually unusual in that it wasn't done in the old fashioned arm twisting privately method.

Our government tortured people after 9/11, this is an indisputable fact.
The denials, obfuscation, delay tactics and outright lying about it since then do not change this fact and these are criminal acts, period.

If you, as an American citizen even briefly entertain the thought that there is no way they would ever do this to you I suggest you start believing differently right now.

Anyone reading this Blog is instantly considered a Domestic Terrorist or at the very least, a sympathizer by this same government and the only difference between a Domestic Terrorist and an Armed Combatant is whether or not you happen to have a pocket knife in your pants and checking a different box on a government form.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry has asked Sen. Dianne Feinstein to "consider" the timing of the expected release of a long-awaited report on the CIA's harsh interrogation techniques.

Kerry called Feinstein to discuss the broader implications of the timing of publicly releasing a declassified summary of her committee's report "because a lot is going on in the world, and he wanted to make sure that foreign policy implications were being appropriately factored into timing," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Friday.
She said Kerry during the call reiterated the support of the administration for the release of the report on detention and interrogation, but "he also made clear that the timing is of course her choice."
These factors to consider "include our ongoing efforts against ISIL and the safety of Americans being held hostage around the world," Psaki said.

The Senate Intelligence Committee is poised to release early next week the first public accounting of the CIA's use of torture on al-Qaida detainees held in secret facilities in Europe and Asia in the years after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
It will come in the form of a 480-page executive summary of the 6,200-page report by Democrats on the committee, who spent six years reviewing millions of secret CIA documents.
According to many U.S. officials who have read it, the document includes disturbing new details about the CIA's use of such techniques as sleep deprivation, confinement in small spaces, humiliation and the simulated drowning process known as waterboarding. President Barack Obama has acknowledged, "We tortured some folks."
But the report goes much further than to simply condemn the brutal methods, which Obama banned in 2009 and were repudiated by the three most recent CIA directors. It alleges that the harsh interrogations failed to produce unique and life-saving intelligence. And it asserts that the CIA systematically lied about the covert program to officials at the White House, the Justice Department and congressional oversight committees.

So Kerry is pretty much still trying to forestall this getting into the hands of people who are very interested in
going over it line by line.

There is undoubtedly some very damning testimony, documentation, evidence and the timelines will be especially interesting .

What I really want you to understand about all of this, legal or not is that they learned things that under normal circumstances and color of law, that they should never, ever, have been able to do.

Techniques that were unheard of because the technology wasn't there before were tested and evaluated.

Medical professionals were employed to monitor victims of torture to be able to inform those doing the torturing just how far they could go before they went too far for even our own guidelines at the time which prohibited causing organ failure.

Stop and think about that last fact.
That was the legal red line that wasn't supposed to be crossed, causing so much pain and physical damage that internal organs would fail.

That pretty much left it wide open for even the most vile methods modern man could come up with and unfortunately, that red line was crossed on occasion anyway.

All of this is in that report and more because quite a bit of it is already public knowledge.

This is why Kerry and the rest of the administration do not want it released at all.

They know damn good and well that when our enemies find out what happened under the Bush administration it won't matter who is in charge over here because as the saying goes, payback is a bitch. You can bet the last shred of respect you ever had for our government that when this gets out that the recent unpleasantness over seas is going to get kicked up a few notches and those fanatics over in the Sand Box will have more than enough justification in their own eyes so that nothing is off the table if this is what we do to our prisoners here at home while talking out the other side of our mouth about justice, the land of the free and all those other quaint notions that no longer apply.

All this is going to happen while Obama is still in office and he has no stomach for what it's going to take
to deal with it as he is an admitted Muslim supporter and that is exactly who we were torturing, Muslims.

What they were actually doing was, practicing on the Muslims.

Divide And Conquer

I put up a post at a newish Blog I have been letting languish for a while on some thoughts I have had concerning the recent flogging of the Race War meme.

I thought maybe I would drive some traffic over there as it is going to be a departure from the fun and games here.
You won't be seeing any scantily clad ladies or jokes over there, it is going to be my designated spot for all things concerning the current state of affairs we find ourselves in as concerned Americans, you know, us Domestic Terrorist types the government has branded us as.

So do me a favor, swing by Antidote To Tyranny and take a gander. You can even leave a comment if you're nice.

I will be updating it sporadically for now but would like to eventually concentrate more on that than the frivolities I have devolved into here.

Let me know what you think.

The Silver Lining

Sent to me in an Email by a sweet little old lady, seriously.

Interesting perspective!!!!!!!!
One 82-year-old lady loves Obama and she may have a very good point. She says that Obama is amazing, and is rebuilding the American dream! She gives us an entirely new slant on the "amazing" job Obama is doing, and she says that she will thank God for the President. Keep reading for her additional comments and an explanation. When discussing Obama, she says:
1. Obama destroyed the Clinton Political Machine, driving a stake through the heart of Hillary’s presidential aspirations - something no Republican was ever able to do.
2. Obama killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - no more Kennedy's trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home.
3. Obama is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes! Dennis Moore had never lost a race. Evan Bayh had never lost a race. Byron Dorgan had never lost a race. Harry Reid - soon to be GONE! These are just a handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed. By the end of 2016 dozens more will be gone. Just think, in December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In the previous two election cycles, they picked up 14 Senate seats and 52 House seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party. However, in just one year, Obama put a stop to all of this and has given the House and the Senate back to the Republicans.
4. Obama has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Sadly, every generation seems to need to re-learn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. Obama is bringing home the lesson very well: Liberals tax, borrow and spend. Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America. Liberals want to take over the economy. Liberals think they know what is best for everyone. Liberals are not happy until they are running YOUR life.
5. Obama has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan. In one year, he has rejuvenated the Conservative Movement and brought out to the streets millions of freedom loving Americans. Name one other time when you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back America!
6. Obama, with his "amazing leadership," has sparked the greatest period of sales of firearms and ammunition this country has seen. Law abiding citizens have rallied and have provided a "stimulus" to the sporting goods field while other industries have failed, faded, or moved off-shore.
7. In all honesty, one year ago I was more afraid than I have been in my life. Not afraid of the economy, but afraid of the direction our country was going. I thought, Americans have forgotten what this country is all about. My neighbors and friends, even strangers, have proved to me that my lack of confidence in the greatness and wisdom of the American people has been flat wrong.
8. When the American people wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool them! Barack Obama has served to wake up these great Americans! Again, I want to say: "Thank you, Barack Obama!" After all, this is exactly the kind of hope and change we desperately needed!!
9. He made Jimmy Carter happy since Jimmy is no longer the worse president we've ever had.

Me And Little Johnny Would Have Something In Common

One day in the local indoctrination center......

Teacher: “If I gave you 2 cats and another 2 cats and another 2, how many will you have?”
Little Johnny: “Seven, Sir.“

Teacher: “No, listen carefully... If I gave you 2 cats, and another 2 cats and another 2, how many will you have?”
Little Johnny: “Seven, Sir.”

Teacher: “Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you 2 apples, and another 2 apples and another 2, how many would you have?”
Little Johnny: “Six.”

Teacher: “Good. Now if I gave you 2 cats, and another 2 cats and another 2, how many would you have?”
Little Johnny: “Seven!!! SIR!!!”

A very angry Teacher: “Where in the hell do you get seven from?!?!?”

A very angry Little Johnny said: “Because....I've already got a fuckin cat!!!”
