Thomas Eric Duncan, the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States, died Wednesday more than a week after he was hospitalized in Dallas, officials announced.
Duncan, 42, had become a human face of Ebola for most Americans who were unaware of the disease that has ravaged parts of West Africa and killed more than 3,400 people there.
“It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7:51 a.m.,” Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas said in a statement.
The case prompted fear in Dallas and touched off an ambitious public health response at home and abroad to deal with Ebola.
Duncan left Liberia on Sept. 19 to visit Louise Troh, with whom he was reconciling and planned to marry in Dallas. They were planning to live as a family with their son.
“He apologized to Louise the day they told him what he had,” Lloyd said. “He told her, ‘I’m so sorry all of this is happening. . . . I would not put the love of my life in danger.’”
“I trust a thorough examination will take place regarding all aspects of his care,” This statement burns me to the core, like who the fuck does she think will pay for his care that has been estimated at approximately $1000.00 a fucking hour, and as for his remains, here is an idea. Take his worthless ass carcass and drop it right on top of the ISIS group right smack dab in the middle of the so called Middle-East. Two birds, one stone.
I really don't care he died. No reason to be sad or miss him. He lied in order to leave Liberia and infect people here. He should not of been allowed in the U.S. We should Nuke Liberia.
