KY Lawmaker Accidentally Discharges Handgun In Capitol Office," I am a gun owner… It happens"

A true face palm worthy hypocritical statement from someone who is supposed to be all about accountability.

A Kentucky lawmaker has confirmed that she accidentally discharged a handgun in her Capitol office on Tuesday.

State Rep. Leslie Combs (D) told WHAS that she was unloading the gun in her Capitol annex office when it discharged. A bookcase was struck by a bullet after it ricocheted off the floor.

Democratic state Rep. Jeff Greer was also in the room but was not injured in the shooting.

“I don’t want to use it anymore,” Combs explained to reporters on Wednesday.

“I thought it was totally clear,” she said. “I am a gun owner. It happens.”

Speaker of the House Greg Stumbo (D) asked Kentucky State Police to investigate the incident.

I am not going to hold my breath waiting for formal charges to be filed.
You know how it is with "The Ones".

The cop out and lack of personal responsibility is pretty damning though.

I am a gun owner, and no, it doesn't "happen."

I always empty my guns by pulling the trigger.

I've had one AD in my life, and it was totally my fault, my responsibility, my screw-up. I made an assumption, it was wrong. I failed at least one of the basic rules of safe firearms handling. Fortunately, I was following the most important one, which was to keep the thing pointed away from anything I didn't want shot.

So I can sympathize with this woman - though I have to admit I'm amused she's a Democrat. Someone should look into her voting record on gun control and see if she's at least being consistent or hypocritical.
